Steve Jobs is best known as the co-founder,chairman and CEO of Apple Inc. He is also known as the co-founder and CEO of Pixar Animation Studios.
After losing a power struggle with the board of directors in 1985, Jobs left apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform company specialising in higher education and business markets.In 1986 he acquired the computer graphics division of Lucasfilm, which became Pixar.
In 1996,Apple had failed to deliver a new operating system and they turned to Steve Jobs' company, NeXT and so returned to apple as an advisor later taking control as interim CEO and in 1998 he brought Apple back from the brink of bankruptcy to profitability.
As the new CEO of the company, Jobs developed the iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPhone, and iPad.The success of these products resulted in Apple becoming the world's most valuable company in 2011.This 'rebirth' of Apple is regarded as one of the greatest turnarounds in business history and it was all made possible thanks to Steve Jobs.
Steve Jobs died on October 5th 2011 as a result of respiratory arrest related to his tumour coupled with cancer he battled with for 8 years.
Jobs has been described as legendary, a futurist, and a visionary.
